Welcome to the Dunbarton Congregational Church!

Our vision is simple:

to offer the best small church experience

anyone can find anywhere . . .

Our church is truly a New Hampshire treasure—on the outside, a beautifully restored 1836 meetinghouse on the village green, and on the inside, a dynamic, innovative and growing congregation. Visitors often comment upon our relaxed and friendly atmosphere; indeed, it is an accurate reflection of the warmth and spirit of our members. But beneath this congeniality lies an equally serious commitment to the teachings of Jesus Christ as practiced in the tradition of the United Church of Christ.

A Christ-Centered Church

In a shrinking and multicultural world, Christians today face a unique challenge: claiming our identity as followers of Christ while respecting the religious traditions of others. As we explore the depths of our own faith, as we test and clarify our historical beliefs, we strive to strengthen our devotion to Christ and enrich our lives through ecumenical and interfaith dialogue.

A Youth-Centered Church

The psalmist writes, “Children are a gift from the Lord!” As we fulfill our covenant to love, support and nurture those in our midst, we strive to continually celebrate our children—empowering them as full and active participants in worship and mission and appreciating the vitality they bring to congregational life.

A Spirit-Led Church

For too long, mainline churches have become centers of intellectualism, places where logic and reason inform our theological beliefs. But God is not a consequence of reason! As we learn to feel God’s presence in our lives, as we explore spiritual practices and disciplines and deepen our prayer life, we make room for God’s spirit to fill our hearts and take us to places that logic cannot go.

A Mission-Focused Church

In the Protestant tradition, the grace of God demands an active response. As we deepen our appreciation for Christ, as we strengthen our commitment to Christ, we continue to labor for Christ, embracing our world through ambitious, hands-on, mission and outreach programs.

A Community Church

Our church was founded in 1789, and our present historic church building was built in 1836.

Our mission activities include providing food, clothing, and toys to people in need as well as supporting a foster child in the Philippines.

Worship services are held on Sunday mornings, and nursery care is available. Our Christian Education programs include church school for children in grades one through six, adult Bible study sessions, and a Youth Fellowship Program. Our Sunday worship service is held from 10:30 to 11:30 AM, (summer hours - 10:00 to 11:00 AM). See our members Photo

Directions: Our Church is in the center of Dunbarton, across the common from the historic Dunbarton Town Hall. It is located at 6 Stark Highway North (on Route 13 ). From the north and Concord, take Route 13 West to Pages Corner, turn left and follow Route 13 South to Dunbarton center. From the south and Goffstown, turn from Route 114 onto Route 13 North, and follow it to Dunbarton center.
